Objective: With all the different types of Dashboards one can create using Live Maps, this article will give a brief explanation of the various types. Also provide some information about where they are created as well as other property values that make them unique.
Common Dashboards
List Dashboard – listing of Objects in scom displaying their associated health. The list Dashboard a group in SCOM

Example – List of Computers, logical disks,
Databases, etc.

Built using the Live Maps Authoring Console

Can be displayed in the Live Maps Unity Portal
and in the SCOM console using the Live Maps Operations Manager extensions.

Member objects can be defined Explicitly or
through Membership rules.

Members can also be Sub-dashboards including
other lists or Diagrams.

List has an associated health state. Health state follows the health rollup for the objects in SCOM.

Diagram Dashboard – Objects are placed in a Viso like view.

Diagrams are typically used to display objects
in Geographic, Infrastructure (like Data center or rack), network topologies, or
workflow form. Also used as a top level dashboard such as in a NOC.

Can show and display the health state of
objects, however the summary dashboard has no associated health state of its
own.

Sites & Subnets
This function actually isn’t really a separate dashboard, but a wizard that allows a user to create a List dashboard with Membership rules that will display all objects within a certain subnet.

Shows the Different perspectives (End-User,
Application and Infrastructure) for the listed services to show Business Impact
of an outage

Allows user to see SLA Monitor, as well as
status of any related services.

From this Dashboard user can drill into the Service
Map or any of the perspectives.

Health of different services roll-up to the top
of the Dashboard. This allows your services that are in the worse state to be
shown at the top.
Service Map – The service Map is a Dashboard for a service that is automatically created during the service creation process. Services are created using the Live Maps Authoring Console

Show health state of the 3 different
perspectives for the service.

Displays all alerts for any of the perspectives,
objects, or sub dashboards contained in the service.

Displays SLAs for the current service, and the
different perspectives. Able to look at previous SLA periods’ data.
